Search Engine Optimisation And Url Rewriting

First things first, what is Url Rewriting. This is the act of changing a Url or web address from a horrible looking misture of letters and numbers and changing it to something that a person can read. For example a bad url would be "www.thisisaurl.com?catId=2&subCat=4&ItemId=8" but this could be rewritten to be "www.thisisaurl.com/CategoryName/SubCategoryname/ArticleName.aspx". By re-writing this url the user is easily able to see the category, sub category and name of the article just from the web address and as this web address is shown in a search page this makes it visible as a more relevent page to whatever you searched for in the first place. The other advatage is that as the web Url is displayed in understandable words they are also included (quite heavily) in being words associated with the site and a great place to add keywords to further assist the Search Engine rankings.

When creating a Villa website the pages will be added to the site with names that will help their Search Engines keywords locations on the site. If however you add to the website the use of either the News Tools or the Customer Testimonials then each entry will generate a new URL that is using URL rewriting. At each item will be deemed to be a new page this will mean you are adding new content to the site and due to the way that we will build your website each testimonial will appear as being a new page on the site and so if you were to add 50 testimonials then means you will have an extra 50 pages on your site, with 50 more entries in the search engines using 50 pages of content that will more than likely include your keywords.
